Artist Statement
Standards EvidenceEverybody said it looked weird. My teacher suggested smoothing out the plaster so you can't see the bumps. My classmates feedback wasn't very helpful. I used water and my hands to make sure the plaster was smoothed out. Working with the plaster was challenging. It's very hard to get it to stay in one place when it's wet. I didn't really have a lot of problems working with it. I was able to stay focused on my work because I liked what I was doing and I wanted to see it finished.

StandardsWhen I looked at architecture, I was more interested in abstract shapes. I found an architecture structure (from China, I think) that looked pretty interesting, cool, neat... that inspired my work. Working with the cardboard and paper tape, it was difficult to form. I didn't like to stay up all the time, it would just fall over sideways on itself. I didn't research, explore, or practice anything new. Artist Statementi made my art out of cardboard, paper tape and paint. my art is based off of a chinese architecture that is a pentagon inside of each other. i would of liked to spend more time on this project to make it better but over all i don't think it's to bad.
I'm making a non-representational sculpture and building it out of plaster gauze and newspaper. I got some feedback from classmates and my teacher. My classmates think it looks really weird. I don't really know what it is but that's ok. One of the things that's challenging is getting it to stay in one place while I'm building it. The materials are challenging.
